Children/Grandkids: I have one daughter, Megan Armstrong Wills, born 1976.
She co-founded the Charm City Comedy Project. More… They host the annual Charm City Comedy Festival in Baltimore. She coaches improv troupes as "The Improvocateur" in Baltimore. She has performed at the Del Close Marathon in NYC in 2012 and 2013, and in many festivals on the East Coast.

The venue for their project, interestingly enough, is the Lou Costello Room in Zissimo's (Hampden). It bears his name because he performed there often and was very close to the owners back then.

Comments (CURRENT INTERESTS & HOBBIES):

I published my first collection of poems, "Go Early into the Unknown", in December 2010. My second collection, entitled "Depth Finder", was published in December 2013. You can find directions for ordering either of these books at my website: www.drpamarmstrong.com
My books are also available on Amazon.

I have written poems on request for special exhibitions in London, UK, one entitled "The Art of Writing" and one entitled "I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine".

I adore my granddog Buster, a pointer/boxer mix who lights up our lives.

I continue to have a part-time private practice. My more relaxed schedule allows me freedom to reflect, and I am very thankful for this new balance in my life.

My sister and I have been working on the complex family history of the Armstrongs, Spillmans, Powells, and Torbetts. A challenging but fascinating way to see the interplay between the arc of history, families and individual lives.

I LOVE to travel and have had many adventures with my sister and my friends, especially since retiring from my day job in June 2012.

I also hike and kayak, putting me in close touch with nature and the beauty and spiritual enrichment it provides us.

School Story/Favorite Teacher:

I was so eager to dive into the deep end of the pool in life that I left for college after junior year! I was barely 17 and I soon found out how unready I was for that. I am sorry that I missed out on the fun times the rest of you shared during senior year. The world began to change so very quickly and drastically during that time, but I kept blinders on and ignored the rear view mirror too. It's a lot of fun now to look back and think how free we were to make mischief, and mistakes too, as we felt so safe in our community.

Mr. Byrum played a role in encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone, take risks, and find some kind of hilarity even in the experience of stage fright. I loved him for that.

John, so relieved to hear that you and your wife are safe, I can't even imagine, from the accounts I have read...And I am glad you are landing on your feet near loved ones now. I will be thinking of you. I was luckily in the Gatlinburg area with friends a few years ago, and that will live forever in my memory.

So many good memories come up when I think of Cathy!  The lazy, hazy, crazy days...we could always come up with something fun to do, from our headquarters on Westmoreland Place.  She was a loyal friend, and could always make me laugh when I almost forgot how.  She enjoyed irony, the best kind of humor.  We had a great time in the thespians ...she had a memorable role as "Madame Arcati".  During her years in Georgia, she became an accomplished creative artist, and I only wish I could have seen her work!  Much love to dear Cathy, and my sympathy goes out to all who loved her.

St. Augustine's Tower in Hackney, London. This tower was built in 1275. In April 2015 it was the venue for the special exhibition "I Dreamed I Saw St.Augustine" in which three of my poem were featured.
